As we know, Poker is a very popular card game, but no one knows the definite point of its origination alike the Persian game of as nas. It is believed that Persian sailors where those who taught this game to the French settlers in New Orleans. The clear concept regarding origination of poker is still in fade; however some of its features were recognized in the previous games. Maybe present form of poker is outcome of earlier games. It seems that the common pastime in 1800 was gambling. It spread up the West and Mississippi during the gold rush.
It is also believe that poker was played with 20 cards at its initial stage, but the full 52-card English deck was used to play soon after its wide spread. The game changed and more additions were made during the American civil war such as stud poker, draw poker, and the straight. Wild card was introduced around 1875 and split-pot poker was introduced about 25 year later and again community card poker game was introduced about 25 years later around 1925. The game widely spread to other countries from America. It is stated that U.S military was responsible for the introduction of poker game in Asia.
It was about 1970 when the World Series of Poker started. It was able to gain extreme popularity in American casinos. The popularity of poker extremely increased during the initial years of the 21st century because the game was also introduced online. It was the main reason behind turning the game into a spectator sport.
There are several ways for playing poker, however there is basic pattern of play which is pursued everywhere. Players deal cards by following each hand rotation, but there is a house dealer who handles the cards when it comes to playing poker game in casinos. Generally, a white plastic disk is passed around the players in order to indicate the dealer for that round. In order to determine the order of betting, it is rotated clockwise. The cards are shuffled by the dealer, they cuts it and deals to every players. The dealt cards may be facing upwards or downwards depending on the type of the poker game.

Draw poker:
5 or more cards are dealt to each player and entire cards are dealt to players facing downwards. It’s possible for player to replace one or more of his cards for certain number of times.
Stud Poker:
The players are dealt with one card at a time in this game. Some of the cards are displayed to other players at the table. The facility of replacing or discard any cards in not allowed to players in Stud poker.
Community card poker:
Players are dealt with a number of cards facing upwards and these cards are shared by entire players. Players combine ‘community cards’ with the individually dealt cards.
Texas hold’em, and Omaha hold’em are more popular versions. 22 players can play Texas Hold’em at a time but 2 and 10 people usually play this game. Winning the pots is the main objective of Texas hold’em. The player needs to make mathematically correct decisions in order to win pots.
